Through the old cultural landscape of Pajottenland, as known from Bruegel's paintings. The themed route starts at the Sint-Anna Church, which is immortalized in Pieter Bruegel's 'The Parable of the Blind' (Blind Man's Bluff in German). Along the path, you will encounter 11 copies of the Dutch painter's works and get an idea of what this cultural landscape once looked like.

Park and Lake Circuit in the Anderlecht SuburbOn the western edge of Brussels, this short lake circuit offers relaxation and plenty of greenery; right at a highway interchange. The hike leads through two parks, separated by the E 19 motorway with a graffiti open-air museum: heading towards the city, the 9-hectare Vijverspark (Parc des Étangs) established in 1960, and heading out of the city, the Pedepark (Parc régional de la Pede). The ponds were created in 1980 as rainwater retention basins in the Neerpede valley. The Pedepark is home to rare plant and animal species, including bats, dragonflies, and kingfishers. We might also encounter red-eared slider turtles, released by supposed animal lovers who found the animals from the USA too large for their home terrariums. Rather unusual attractions are the graffiti-covered motorway bridge pillars between the parks as well as the ride on the old tram to the park.
