A challenging mountain hike to the “Corsican Matterhorn,”. This majestic rocky peak, with its magnificent views of Cinto, Rotondo, the Calacuccia Reservoir, and the Gulf of Porto, is undoubtedly the most beautiful mountain on the island. Less experienced hikers should only ascend as far as the Ciottulu di i Mori hut or the Col des Maures.

The GR 20 leads through breathtaking nature. Past mountain lakes, over mountain ridges with views extending to the sea, and with magnificent natural swimming pools along the way. In most hiking guides, the route is divided into 16 stages. This track describes the GR20 in 12 stages. The stage plan is located below the media. To walk the route, very good fitness and mountain experience are necessary.

Mountain paradise surrounded by deep green meadow matsHidden in a gentle hollow lies this blue mountain paradise framed by deep green mats and criss-crossed by dark meanders. In summer, cows graze here with their young, horses graze peacefully on the gnawed meadows and let themselves be pampered by hikers - not a fence or shepherd in sight. The ascent is a real pleasure due to the magnificent Laricio pines of the Valdu Niellu (Black Forest) and the unique views of the ridge between Paglia Orba and the Cinto massif, despite the steepness of the second half of the trail.
