Beautiful culturally interesting hike through historic villages, an interesting themed route, and with magnificent views of Lake Garda

Very beautiful hike from Affi to the beautiful scenic mountain Moscal, through the lovely densely wooded "Valsorda" and back through vineyards.

From Incaffi we hike up Monte Moscal and enjoy the magnificent view over Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains.

This circular hike is best started from the beautiful village center of Affi. The old village center at the foot of Mount Moscal, away from the commercial centers in "new Affi," is very pretty and well maintained. There is plenty of parking in Affi. Since the route is mostly shaded, it can be done throughout the year except on extremely hot days. Beautiful historic mansions, stunning lake views, an enchanted valley resembling a rainforest, and the lovely villages of Bardolino and Garda reward the effort. The view from Rocca di Garda is one of the most beautiful at Lake Garda. To reach the highest point, you must take an additional 15-minute walk at the fork at the path cross near the pass. However, due to the length of the route, we walked directly towards the good restaurant "La Dacia." There, you can enjoy wonderful dining amid olive trees.

A circular route that takes place in the valley and then leads to the summit of Monte Moscal. The mountain is world-famous for having hosted, during the Cold War, one of the most secret and largest bunkers built by NATO in all of Europe. Dug into the rock, the West Star, or the “Western Star” - the code name by which the shelter was known - was almost impossible to locate unless one knew its exact position. On the southeastern side of Lake Garda, the destination is perfect to enjoy a magnificent view of the lake, as well as Monte Baldo and the Affi plain.

The "Monte San Michele", the main elevation in the territory of the municipality of Cavaion Veronese with its 342 meters of altitude, is a “monadrock,” that is, a witness mountain from a geo-morphological point of view due to its rocks and fossils dating back to the Oligocene. The new nature trail includes 12 stations with insights on the territory, the flora, and the archaeological aspects of the San Michele area.

Beautiful walk immersed in vineyards and olive trees that goes from the Corte Patrizia farm stay to the Rocca di Garda

Above Bardolino and yet far from the hustle and bustle, this refreshing loop leads us into a natural valley with an adjoining panoramic "hill." ▶ Let's start at the Fermata Valsorda bus stop 01, where we follow the road uphill, then veer slightly left on gravel past the pink house with a barrier into the forest. Along the stream, the beautiful marked forest path (partly marked with No. "1") ascends gently and soon crosses to the left side of the stream. Here we are accompanied by delicious wild strawberries. Small cascades, stream crossings without bridges, and the soft natural ground make this narrow valley a refreshing experience. We ignore the right turn and immediately bypass a mighty rock tower on the left side. At a stream crossing, a wooden plank serves as a stepping aid. Then be sure to cross left over the stream and climb up to the road (40 min., Via Casetta), then right. We pass through vineyards and pass the Agriturismo Incaffi with private gastronomy. Then proceed to the junction towards Incaffi 02, continuing left. Our eyes are drawn not only to the wonderful landscape but also to house number 64, where a narrow road leads uphill immediately to the right. After the barrier, we enter shady deciduous forest again (chestnuts, beeches, oaks). On the left, the mighty rock face of the resting quarry and the antenna of Monte Moscal. Always along the green metal fence, take the right fork uphill (marked white-red). At the top, left again and to the very steep and rocky final climb to the Italian flag at Monte Moscal 03. The panorama to the north is magnificent! The return route: westward on a rocky path through the forest, then straight over a meadow and on gravel turning south again down the valley. To our right, the large transmission facility (fenced off). Without marking, after the barrier, take the left on the paved road downhill with an excellent view of the smaller Monte San Michele. After some S-curves, Via Moscal turns sharply north, then curves right past a rest bench back to the familiar junction (1:30 h) to Incaffi 02. The rest of the return is on the same path.
