Der Ferberturm ist eines der traditionsreichsten Ausflugslokale der Stadt Gera. Zu jeder Jahreszeit lohnt die kurze Anfahrt von der Stadtmitte oder der Spaziergang aus der Stadtmitte durch den Buchenwald. Treffen Sie sich mit Freunden und Geschäftspartnern im Biergarten oder feiern Sie ein außergewöhnliches Familienfest im historischen Kaminraum. Das á-la-carte-Angebot traditioneller gutbürgerlicher Küche hält verschiedene Überraschungen für Sie bereit. Für Ihre Gesellschaft wird auf Wunsch ein individuelles Buffet mit kulinarischen Angebot der Saison zusammengestellt.
Historie:
Der Ferbertrum steht am höchsten Punkt der Stadt auf exakt 300 m über NN. 1874/75 ließ Dr. Moritz Rudolf Ferber, ein Geraer Kaufmann und Mineraloge, das Bauwerk auf der Ronneburger Höhe errichten. Außerdem wurde ein Nebengebäude angefügt, welches man im Stil einer Ruine erbaute. Es diente als Kastellanswohnung. Ein Jahr nach Fertigstellung wurde der Turm der Stadt Gera übereignet, welche später eine Wetterstation einrichtete. 1946/47 folgte der Umbau der Ruine zur Gaststätte.
Ene Sanierung erfolgte 1989.
