Unser Weingut liegt im idyllischen Grunern an der Pforte des Münstertals, wo bereits seit 1756 der Rebbau und Ausbau der Weine der Lebensinhalt der Familie Köpfer ist.

Heute liegt das Augenmerk auf der Markgräfler Spezialität Gutedel, der sich sehr wohl fühlt an den Hängen des Grunerner Altenbergs. In der Vorbergzone des Schwarzwalds an den von Geschichte geprägten Hängen des Staufener Schlossbergs wachsen Weißer- und Grauer Burgunder und auch der burgunderverwandte Chardonnay über der historischen Altstadt Staufens. Am Fuße des Ballrechter Castellbergs – benannt nach der Ruine des Römerkastells auf seiner Spitze – reifen Spätburgundertrauben, während unsere besten Spätburgunder sich über die Wärme des sonnenverwöhnten Kirchhofener Höllhagen erfreuen dürfen.
Bereits seit 1978 bewirtschaften wir unsere Reben ökologisch und sind einer der ersten zertifizierten Betriebe des ECOVIN-Verbands für ökologischen Weinbau.
Neben dem nachhaltigen Umgang mit der Natur legen wir Wert auf reduzierte Erträge und die Erhaltung der natürlichen Bodenfruchtbarkeit durch Begrünungen und Kompost.
Im Keller setzen wir auf den schonenden Ausbau unserer Weine. Unsere Philosophie ist die des Vertrauens: die besten Weine entwickeln sich nur mit viel Zeit und Geduld zu ihrem vollen Potential.
Seit zwei Jahren ist unser Enkel Gabriel mit im Betrieb tätig. Nach seinem Studium an der Hochschule Geisenheim konnte er wertvolle Erfahrungen bei mehreren Stationen auf der ganzen Welt sammeln. Während wir für klassische Weiß- und Rotweine stehen, die im Stahltank bzw. im großen Holzfass ausgebaut werden ganz nach unserem Motto „trocken aber nicht zu trocken“, steht Gabriel für moderne Weine, die gerne auch im Barrique ausreifen.
Aus dieser einzigartigen Kombination von über 75 Jahren Erfahrung und dem aktuellsten Wissen entstehen vielseitige Weine, die jeden zum Genießen animieren.
