Auf dem Oberen Marktplatz mit seinen beiden Brunnen finden die unterschiedlichsten Feste und Märkte statt.

z.B. Afrika-Fest und Hamburger Fischmarkt im Frühjahr, Töpfermarkt am 1. August-Wochenende, Kunsthandwerkermarkt im Herbst, Weihnachtsmarkt Anfang Dezember, Krämermarkt im Mai, Juli und September. Termine siehe Veranstaltungskalender.

Wochenmärkte finden von Mai bis September immer dienstags und freitags von 7:30 - 13:00 Uhr statt, von Oktober bis April nur freitags.

Geschäfte, Cafés und Restaurants laden zum Bummeln und Genießen ein.

Tipp: Besteigen Sie den Rathausturm (während der Rathaus-Öffnungszeiten) und betrachten Sie den mühlebrettartigen Stadtgrundriss aus der Vogelperspektive.
