Vine growing is much more than just a craft – it is passion, lived tradition, and a piece of art. At the Margarethenhof winery, this philosophy has been lived for four generations. With great dedication, Yvonne Libelli and Martin Lucas lead the family business, combining proven methods with a modern, distinctive touch.
At the center are wines with style and character that bring joy and reflect the unique qualities of their origin. The Rieslings of the Margarethenhof benefit from an extraordinary variety of vineyard soils: sandstone, basalt, shell limestone, loess, and clay shape the individual vineyards and give each wine its own expression. These differences can be smelled and tasted. For Riesling is not just Riesling: Each vintage tells its own story while the typical characteristics of the respective location always remain recognizable. It is precisely this diversity that makes the wines of the Margarethenhof so special.

Tradition here does not mean stagnation, but the connection of experience and contemporary quality standards. The result is characterful wines with charisma that delight connoisseurs time and again.

Another important step towards sustainable viticulture: Since the 2024 vintage, all wines from the Margarethenhof estate have been officially controlled and certified according to EU guidelines by the control body for organic farming in Karlsruhe under DE-ÖKO-022. We expect even deeper and more expressive wines from this.

For guests wishing to explore the Palatinate and the wine-growing region, the Margarethenhof winery offers a cozy motorhome parking space, as well as the option of a self-guided wine hike through the Forster vineyards. (Guided via app, equipped with a wagon and chilled wines from the winery.)

On Tuesdays, we are mostly out and not found at the winery, and on Sundays we rest. Therefore, our winery is closed for wine tastings on Tuesdays and Sundays - however, wine pickups by prior arrangement on account are gladly possible.
