Connected to tradition. Open to new things. The necessary time to mature are important to me with our wines.
With pleasure I kidnap you to a wine tasting in our wine cellar.
Family-run Winery in the Southern Palatinate
The small, traditional winery JEAN RAPP is located in the picturesque village of Kapellen-Drusweiler. Between an old schoolhouse and the Erlenbach creek, the beautiful four-sided estate, which was built in 1782, catches the eye. The history began more than 100 years ago when Johann “Jean” Rapp married the daughter of the then estate owner in 1905.
Together, the winemakers Andrea and Ludwig Block-Grupe have lovingly and stylistically renovated the old manor house and modernized the cellar with new barrels and fresh ideas for the future. They switched the operation to organic farming from the very beginning and have been ECOVIN certified since 2020. From the vineyards, the view stretches to the slopes of the Palatinate Forest, out to the Rhine plain and over to Alsace.
In the cellar, only the best grapes are carefully processed and given the necessary time to develop into true Palatinate classics according to strict quality standards. The two focus on traditional grape varieties that produce authentic and expressive wines. The heart of the family beats especially for Pinot varieties, including Auxerrois, Chardonnay, and crisp Rieslings.
