Our farm is located in Schweigen-Rechtenbach in the district of Schweigen, idyllically nestled between vineyards, fruit trees and meadows. The vineyards are located directly on the edge of the Rhine plain along the slopes to the Palatinate Forest from Dörrenbach over Oberotterbach to Schweigen. A small part even directly over the border, in the French part of the Schweigener Sonnenberg, above the houses of Wissembourg.

The work in the vineyard, starting with the pruning in spring until the harvest in autumn, is mainly focused on quality. Not mass but healty, fully ripe grapes are our goal. This is an indispensable prerequisite for the gentle pressing and going of the grapes in the cellar to produce fine, fruity wines. Our strong red wines are produced exclusively by mash fermentation, i.e. the color and tannins have a long time to pass from the berries into the wine. Only after complete fermentation is pressed.

Riesling, our most cultivated grape variety, grows best on the easily heated sandstone weathered soils directly below the forest. This is followed by heavy clayey calcareous marl soils, ideal for grapes of the varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, as well as Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer. On the deep, strong loess-loam soils to the east of the wine route, mainly Silvaner, Morio -Muskat and Dornfelder are planted. On small specially selected plots we have planted - for the Palatinate rather rare grape varieties - Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and the fungus-resistant new varieties Regent, Johanniter and Cabernet Blanc.
