Since 1979, the historic Malbergbahn in Bad Ems has been in a Sleeping Beauty slumber. At least at the valley station, you can get on again. With great attention to detail, the listed building along with one of the old carriages has been beautifully renovated. The interior of the building has been transformed into a small but fine café. A special highlight of the renovation is the lower carriage, which has been integrated into the operation of the valley station with over 20 seats in a unique mix of nostalgia and modern restoration. Café Eckstein – named after the founder of the association for the rescue of the mountain railway – offers space for about 30 people and is ideal for weddings, birthdays, and corporate celebrations. The open-air area of the valley station can accommodate up to 100 people - the perfect venue for cultural events of all kinds. Café Eckstein is the ideal place to relax in a cozy atmosphere. Enjoy our homemade cakes and tortes, let yourself be seduced and pampered by our lovingly prepared dishes and delicious coffee specialties. Treat yourself to a "short break" from everyday life in a historic location with panoramic views over Bad Ems and its unique spa architecture.
