Beer route:
Lößnitz has had the right to brew beer as a documented privilege since 1284. In 1338, Emperor Ludwig IV granted the right to brew beer to Burgrave Meinher IV.
The Lößnitz Brewery Association is currently reviving the history and aims to promote and cultivate the brewing tradition and bring it to life. In particular, it aims to revive the tradition of the mediaeval "row tap". The association offers various beer experiences for groups by appointment or by arrangement:
- Brewery tours with beer tasting in the brewhouse.
- Beer brewing seminars Duration: approx. 6 hours Seminar and brewing beer yourself under supervision, brewery tour with beer tasting - a beer from the previous brew is tasted.
- Guided tour of the brewing tradition in Lößnitz or as a hike during the spring and autumn hiking week (from fall 2018) of the Erzgebirge Tourism Association
- German-language lecture on the history of brewing in the town of Lößnitz (can also be booked in addition to other offers)
Our brewery is located in an impressive listed brick building. In addition to the art of brewing, you can also marvel at the handicrafts of the "Schnitz- und Bergverein Lößnitz e.V.", which was founded in 1879. You can also visit the permanent Christmas mountain exhibition and special exhibitions on special occasions.
