We started above the Himmelsleiter near Meensen. Our goal was to get to Göttingen via the Leine-Heide Cycle Path. So first, we had to get from quite high up down to the Leine Cycle Path…
There were a few climbs in between; but then, once we reached the flat area, it rolled well. At times, we lost the Leine Cycle Path. But never mind… many roads lead to....

Start at the Bischhausen Mitte bus stop, pass Eschenberg towards Bremke, through Steinbühl to the Green Belt, past the 20 Years of Border Opening memorial stone and a limestone quarry to Rohrberg, over Rohrberg to Heidkopf, between the A38 and Pferdeberg to Rittergut Besenhausen (farm café), over Hottenrode to Eichenberg. On the way back, a route through Reiffenhausen past the campsite in the forest over Schierenberg can be taken.
