Cycling in Lychen

Through endless forests, along the Zenssee, and across wide open land, this easy mountain bike route leads us into the Uckermark lake district.

This route takes you through endless forests, along idyllic lakes, and through partly sleepy villages. In the process, you cross not only 2 federal states but also 3 districts and will certainly reach your limits. But there are tempting stops at cozy bathing spots and deep in the forest, where the silence is only broken by your heartbeat.

The south route of the nature park route leads in a wide arc around the largest nature reserve in the Uckermärkische Seen Nature Park – the "Kleine Schorfheide".

Through the Uckermark Lake Nature Park to the town among Seven Lakes

We can expect a varied cycling route with lots of nature, culture, and history. From Templin, we cycle on forest paths to the notable rafting town of Lychen, which is surrounded by water on all sides. Our route passes several lakes via Himmelspfort to Fürstenberg, where there is much more to discover besides museums and monasteries.

On this scenic tour, several small towns surrounded by wonderful waterways, time-honoured places of worship and, last but not least, fantastic nature await us. The route through the Lickermark Lakes Nature Park truly shows the region at its best.

Starting from Himmelpfort, it goes idyllically through the forest mostly on paved cycle paths. In Lychen, you pass the remarkable Fürstenberger city gate.
