Today we experienced what was probably the shortest leg of our journey, but certainly the most impressive. The waterfalls in Geiranger, the epic Gamle Strynefjellsvegen mountain road, and by far the most beautiful campsite of our trip.

Today we set out on our trip to Geiranger Fjord, about 100 km away. After driving along the winding road with spectacular views of the fjord, we booked a great campsite outside of Geiranger (not too crowded with tourists!). The site is right on the fjord—perfect for fishing and watching the cruise ships.

Today we got an early start so we could be in Ålesund by noon. Lots of time-consuming ferry rides.
In Ålesund, we visited the Atlantikpark Aquarium and then parked at a city parking spot by the harbor. After a stroll through town, passing by a few ocean giants, we had a delicious meal and rounded off the evening with wine and beer at the harbor. Wind force 11 at night! We had to retract the pop-up roof briefly.
