The scenic hike for a beautiful Sunday afternoon is perfectly suitable. It starts in the medium-sized village of Oechsen and leads over the Emberg back to Oechsen. The first kilometers up to the Emberghütte are paved paths. From the Emberghütte, it can be very muddy through the forest. Once you leave the forest, there are then gravel paths to Oechsen. In dry weather, the path can also be used with a stroller. The Emberghütte is also open early on Sundays. A beautiful sight is the Pilsenstein, which lies next to the bike path to the Emberghütte, but you can also visit the Bormanhäuschen, which is the hunting lodge of Oechsen. From the Emberghütte, you have a nice view of the large Beerberg and the Ringberghaus near Suhl on beautiful weather.
