This city route covered just over 13 km from the parking lot at Vlaamsekaai on the Schelde (cruise port) to the Steen, Antwerp’s oldest building, to the Grote Markt with its imposing Cathedral of Our Lady, to the Begijnenhof, an oasis of tranquility, and back through the shopping street Meir to the Rubens House, the Botanical Garden, and then along the Nationale Straat to the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, which was undergoing renovation in April 2017.
