    Pretty good thanks. Sankey Valley Park a revelation in the sunshine, nobody about plenty of wildlife , a real find less than 20miles from the city. The remainder of the walk not quite as interesting but nice and flat so manageable in the heat. Note that in July the footpath runs through a couple of large grain fields (1 just after the start the other 2/3 through)and path has been ignored when planting. Ended up 6 miles and a bit slower than stated but that was ok.

    Not as interesting as parts 1 and 2, but that’s the nature of the area. We took a detour to take in Dunham Massey too (I tried to not do an out and back for this but it added on too much distance) We also carried on to Glazebrook Station, which made the distance very long, but it is flat and the train was direct back to Manchester. We will add the 2nd half on when we do the Leigh to Blackrod route. There wasn’t much of a footpath over the Warburton Bridge. There is enough space to walk on, but it is covered in branches and leaves and might be a bit tricky in a large group. There is a small section by the toll bridge which doesn’t have a pavement and the cars drive quickly, so care is needed.

    Route gets a bit vague in the woods near the reservoir, but apart from that a decent, varied route. Would class this as easy due to mostly flat terrain and only one long incline up a country lane.
