Enjoyed the walk but next time I'd go via Boreland house and turn north , take the track along the hillside to the gate at reservoir. The woodland path is a a pheasant raising area and if you have a dog ? tricky. the Boreland way has sheep but is open fields so very easy to navigate the woolies.

My wife and I used this route and found it to be quite enjoyable and apart from the distance, which we were okay with, the route does not present any particular challenges. It uses a variety of roads and farm tracks and takes in some pleasant countryside. I got the sense that the contributor was looking for the correct path a couple of times. These are as follows. In Dunglass church grounds where a diversion off the track was taken up into the woods on a very indistinct path. This could probably have been avoided altogether or there is certainly a better path to the same point later on. At the point where the route reaches the A1 there is no need to go out onto the A1 and crosses it. A better alternative is to take the small road to the right just before the A1. This road takes you under the busy A1 and brings you out at Cockburnspath Tower ruins. Thanks to the contributor for posting the walk which was a godsend to us when looking for a new route close to home.

Beautiful part of the world and a fun and challenging route.

It's a nice area to walk in, but I couldn't find a way down the south east side of the reservoir to cross the Whiteadder Water to get up to the B6355. If there were tracks through the woods it's all impassable now (late 2025). I drove back along and had a look at the bridge from the north and it lies on the other side of a "No entry keep out" gate

This is a great route covering most of the scenic areas of England Wales and the South of Scotland. Only missing out on the Highlands and Islands of Scotland ! I would suggest this to anyone wishing to avoid the major UK cities.

Good route, paths are hard to follow at times and were very muddy today. Enjoyed it 👍

Great walk. Did this walk today (08/07/2023) great weather for it and very little water in the boggy areas.

Lovely walk, great views and a bonus Alpaca farm on the way down.
