Rutland

Great walk, through a number of small villages, the George and dragon is a good place to stop for a drink on the way. Lovely views.

A mostly good route. There were a few mis-steps: crossing the road near Lyddington, the actual footpath is hidden, but there's an obvious path which you shouldn't follow; crossing the school playing field, stick to the GPS route - there's a gap in the green fence that you can't see until you're close; crossing the Seaton Road after Bisbrooke, the path following the brook has "No Public Access" signage. A good walk though.

Don’t be put off by the first stretch along the road. Persevere and this walk takes you into some beautiful countryside, and along the edge of Rutland Water. Rated easy, but I caught it on a hot day and was knackered by the end! Not a lot of elevation so easy on that front🙂 thanks for sharing the route .

Should have been a lovely circular walk.. BUT spoilt by one section heading up towards Easton on the Hill, where the farmer has ploughed over the field which stops access to the continuing path. We had to cut across the countryside trying to find a way through. We had to climb over fencing - not a stile - and of course it meant we missed a section out. So disappointing, because otherwise it was such a pleasant route. Help us out farmers please!..

Used this route as a guide to walk the perimeter of Rutland Water. A good 16m walk following the cycle path but with options to walk smaller paths at times. Great views of the water, access to bird hides along the way and sections of woodland. Only down side was that last 2-3 miles was along (or very close to) the main A606.

Nice, easy going route with options to adapt and great views over Rutland Water.

very clear, well-signed route with great views and varied scenery. Just one point where the route has changed and the diagonal cross-field path from the style no longer applies, just follow the track and the route and track meet again

A brilliant walk that mixes open fields, woodland and towns. The section by Wothorpe Towers is especially lovely.
