This popped up in my weekly feed today - felt I had to leave a comment since it’s a walk I do a few times every week. The east path down the glen is closed due to a damaged bridge though I believe as of Nov24 this is now under repair and due to complete Feb25 The king’s seat pub in dollar is also now closed but there are a few options for food or a beer. Forager (that replaced king’s seat) is very good for a bite Report is otherwise still bang on and if you want to avoid a there and back you can hop a stile on the way up just after the steps, or take the bank hill path down to the golf course on the way back

Very varied route with great views. Short but challanging detour to Smugglers cave is well worth it. This route is quite challenging at times, especially deep inside the Glen, so intermediate rating is appropriate.

Very nice walk even in slightly dodgy weather. Along the river especially is nice. Not too taxing. A bit muddy in places, especially around cattle.

Done this route on a nice sunny day. Its a good route, a nice wander and the views are excellent. Passing the chaos that is now Dumyat, I appreciated the peace and quiet to enjoy the landscape.

Really great views from Top of Ben Cleuch. We walked up beside the river - which is spectacular. Lots of steps and handrails however at one point erosion has taken away a section of path and a rope has been put in to assist walkers getting across without stumbling into the river. Our route took us up to Kings Seat Hill which has a steep path across open hillside, levelling out as you near the top. From there we Ascended Andrew Gannel Hill then on to Ben Cleugh so we missed out the steep ascent up The Law. The route back from Ben Cleugh took us over Ben Ever on good, mainly firm ground although the going got softer as we descended towards the quarry. Eventually we rejoined the track alongside the river and returned to Tillicoutry. This was about a 6 hour day / 9.5 miles - Well worth the effort for excellent views

excellent hill walk on mainly good paths. some boggy areas but not too bad. easy walking so suitable for those new to hill walking or not wanting to do anything too technical. be aware however that the area from Cairnmorris Hill to Glensherup reservoir and Ben Shee is not wooded as shown on the OS map. there are only small trees not a forest as you may expect
