Archaeological Museum
Ufficio Turistico Manciano
Some artifacts were unearthed on the extensive property owned by the family, and others were donated or bequeathed by farmers in Saturnia, Sovana and Pitigliano areas.
Donated to the State in 1978, the articles were initially exhibited in the Archaeological Museum in Grosseto, and finally brought back to their natural home in 2003.
The items in the collection offer a comprehensive panorama of the most characteristic materials used in the central Fiora valley throughout the Etruscan and Roman periods, from the 7th century BC to the Imperial age.
A visit to the museum is nicely complemented by the Roman remains displayed in the Piazza Vittorio Veneto- a veritable open-air museum- and the Etruscan Necropolis in Puntone.
