This is the passage between Trachilas and the rest of the island. An otherworldly and rough landscape, which is almost covered by waves in stormy weather. In the summer, however, when “sirokades” (southeastern Sirocco wind) fade away, the water evaporates from the cavities of the rocks and the natural salt of Kythera appears, the “afralatso” (fleur de sel), as the locals call it. The most daring ones get in the sea from the gentle side of the rock, which faces the bay of Kapsali.
