Escursionismo a Los Gallardos: la nostra top 10

Sentiero turistico · Spagna
HPB Alfaix: Punto Chalkies
Difficoltà media

5,7 km

178 m

HPB Alfaix: Punto panoramico e Rio De Aguas
Difficoltà facile

5,5 km

75 m

Note: 1.

Nessun voto
13,6 km
3:05 h
249 m
250 m
Percorso incantevole, inizia e termina a HPB Alfaix.

There and back again’ kind of walk stretching over the hills across the valley of Rio de Aguas, all on good tracks. This route has a section terraced high above an extensive valley, the Barranco del Aire, hence the ‘Balcon’ title.

Most of this circular route was easy to follow with the app EXCEPT river bed section. My error: There was a (very) little rain yesterday. It was enough to make the “dry river bed” wet in some places - the places where there’s the most gorse, prickly scrub & bamboo. This made that section of the walk difficult in places, & very slow. Lost a star as the route line (on the map) around the early section of the dry river bed was in the wrong place - favouring the path up the hill. I was using the app rather than the text. The river bed was wet in places, so having a path alongside it being marked as the route seemed great initially! I tried to rejoin the river bed a few hundred yards late, as the path crossed it, but the app told me I was off route - so I went up the path across the bed. I quickly found myself 40’ above the river bed & unable to get back down it. After trying to cut back to the route further on, I gave up & had to retrace my steps. In summary: This is a good circular route but do not use if it has rained in the last week! Take care to watch the following places: 1. Go off road (straight on) as soon as the road bears right in the early section - you can see on the map it was done wrong 2. Get on the river bed correctly & stay on it until you meet the road c1.5 miles later - ignoring the “you are off route” messages 3. Just after leaving the river bed, the T junction in the clearing (mentioned in the text) is a few hundred yards after the road - not the Y junction as soon as you join the road.

The first loop is one of my favourite walks from HPB. This route takes you to the top of the ridge (so quite a bit of “up” - but lots of viewpoints to stop & catch your breath if needed), along the ridge, before returning along the river bed, with an optional loop via the lemon & orange grove. Some bits are both up & down but where possible different mini loops have been taken to vary the route. There are the following options: 1. Stopping at the rough track or 0.3 miles along it at the first viewpoint. This reduces the main loop to 3 miles. 2. Continuing along the ridge further & retracing steps (adds up to another 0.7 miles) 3. On the return, keeping on the main path (rather than on river bed) near the end of the first loop. 4. Only doing there first loop (about 3.3miles walk without extending the ridge) 5. Walking around the lemon grove to extend by over a mile

Very decent walk, a little bit overgrown at the start and some scrambling g. Very enjoyable, good variety, easy to follow.

Recent heavy rains have damaged the paths and made them a little difficult to follow. Worth it for the view though.

Excellent route. It is ‘hard’ in the valley but well worth it. Directions were excellent.
