Monte Cristallo: Via Ferrata Ivano Dibona
The Cristallo massif, a mountain group of the Ampezzo Dolomites, towers high above Cortina d'Ampezzo. Along these peaks, the via ferrata Ivano Dibona delights its visitors. The Galleria del Ceccino tunnel and Ponte Cristallo, the longest mountain bridge in the Dolomites, await you on the old war paths of the former Italian front line. Later on, alpinists will come across more and more weather-beaten remains of positions, caverns and barrels, as well as the "church", a former commandant's position that owes its nickname to its Gothic window. In addition, many of these military waypoints offer beautiful views to the north. During the descent, the Ferratisti come across another artillery position before crossing meadows and woods to reach Val Padeograve and finally the mid-station of the Cristallo cable car.
