Peak Ombretta est

Via a bumpy forest road (sign „Rifugio Contrin“), climb steeply over several hairpin bends to Baita Locia (1736 m). Continue upwards through the Val Contrin, crossing the Rio Contrin stream to reach the Baita Robinson (1828 m). The trail now climbs steadily, over clearings with a few small trees, up to the Rifugio Contrin refuge (2016 m). From there, the trail continued in a northerly direction into the Val Rosalia. After crossing the wide grassy slopes, you reach the turnoff towards Forcella Marmolada (2400 m) and continue to the right (east) until you reach the rocky walls. Descend through a basin along gravel fields and volcanic soil to reach the Passo Ombretta (2702 m). From the pass you can see Pelmo, Civetta and Moiazza to the east and Colagrave;c and Gran Vernel to the west. Now continue to the right (south) along a partly steep path to the nearby bivouac Bivacco M. dal Bianco (2730 m – Hüttenbuch).
