The Cathar Trail GR®367
Created in 1985, the Cathar Trail links Port la Nouvelle (Aude) and Foix (Ariège) at the foot of the Pyrenees. This route is one of the most emblematic of the Pyrenees.
Loaded with history, this 250-kilometre trail between the Mediterranean and Foix offers a wide variety of landscapes: coastal lagoons, wine-growing hillsides, Mediterranean scrub, canigou, forests, gorges and views of the Pyrenees.
The so-called Cathar castles of Aguilar, Padelun, Queribas, Perepertuse, Puilorren, Puyvers, Montségur... mark out the route. Built on imposing cliffs, these vertiginous citadels recall the pages of medieval history, the Cathars of Languedoc.
