Sellaronda - counterclockwise (green)
The Sellaronda is a ski circuit in a class of its own. Winter sports enthusiasts can expect magnificent views of the snow-covered peaks of the Dolomites, long descents on slopes of medium difficulty at most and many stops for refreshments in cosy huts. If you add up the ascents by cable car and the descents on the pistes, you cover more than 40 km in about 4 hours, but you can add as many lifts and pistes as you like. The ski circuit is signposted in both directions, this tour follows the larger markings and runs counterclockwise. The green route offers somewhat easier pistes than the orange route which runs the other way round, but both ski circuits are easily mastered by average skiers with sufficient fitness. The pistes in the Sellaronda area are very well prepared throughout, but can become muddy during the day if there are large numbers of visitors.
